A prom dress is the one u will remember forever its gotta be nice and can be as over the top as you want it to be but a bridesmaid dress is done to be put against the bride and not up stage her!!! ITS normally picked by the bride and u normally dont have much say. But realli there not that much different afta all their both dresses
